Volleyball Cupcakes

Okay, so this is kind of a revenge post. Because someone left me a mean, hateful, rude comment on my volleyball cupcake post. And yes, you'll have that, and no, my cupcakes aren't that great. The point of this blog is cute easy ideas that anyone and everyone can do and honestly is just an excuse for me to bake more cupcakes.
So if you don't like my cupcakes, instead of leaving me messages about how terrible and awful my cupcakes are and how I have no talent, why don't you just...not read my blog? I'll never know if you don't and it would make me feel much, much better. :)

Red Velvet White Chocolate Heart Cupcakes

Here are the red velvet mini cupcakes with white chocolate candy clay hearts, red edible glitter flakes and white pearl sprinkles that I made for the surprise homecoming party for one of my close friends.
I also sprinkled some of the red velvet cake crumbs on top of the extras. I always see that done on red velvet cupcakes for some reason so I figured I would try it out.

White Rose Cupcakes

Using some white chocolate candy melts and light corn syrup, I made these beautiful white rose cupcakes for my last KD meeting ever!
They take some time, but turn out so beautifully. Who knew it was so easy to make a rose!

Sunflower and Ladybug Cupcakes

Sunflower and ladybug mini cupcakes with Oreos and M&M's in the batter--YUM.
I made these for the two girls who "brighten" my day, Tiera and Siera, on their birthday.

University of Kentucky Cupcakes

So honestly,  I made these cupcakes last year and they weren't that great so I never posted them. But after going to the Blue/White scrimmage here recently, and with Halloween being just past, these cupcakes seemed to fit both occasions pretty well and I figured I'd post them, even though they're ugly.

Candy Cupcakes

Have lots of Halloween candy lying around? Why not make some cupcakes! Specifically Whopper, Reece's Cup, Hershey's Chocolate and Kit Kat cupcakes.
I actually made these right before Halloween, because really, who needs an excuse to put a whole bunch of candy in a cupcake? But if you can get some candy on sale, or steal some of your children's, these cupcakes are delicious.

Despicable Me Minion Cupcakes

If you haven't seen Despicable Me, go rent or buy it ASAP. It's one of the cutest movies.
I made these cupcakes for my mom's third grade class. They're super cute and super easy to make!

Cupcake Pumpkin

Happy Halloween!
This Halloween I made my pumpkin a cupcake. Fitting, right?
Please excuse this terrible picture of Will and I, I hate it.

Toy Story Cupcakes

These Toy Story cupcakes were really the first cupcakes I've ever made for someone I didn't know, which was really exciting for me. And not only that, these cupcakes were very special. They were for a little boy who was turning 3 and LOVES Toy Story. His house burnt down about a week before his birthday, and unfortunately all of his presents and all of their things were ruined by the fire. Of course, when one of my sorority sisters told me about this devastating fire and asking people to donate and old clothing or toys for the children and the family, I don't think she expected cupcakes, but all I could think about was this poor little boy's birthday and how he deserved something special.
And so, I made him some Toy Story cupcakes.

Reeces Cup....cakes

Reece's cup...cakes. Aren't they cute?
They look like mini cupcakes and yet they are really just a frosted Reece's cup. So easy!

Ladybug Pretzels

For Kappa Delta recruitment I decided to make these ladybug pretzels, as the ladybug is one of our symbols.
They were super easy, and pretty cute (although a bit messy).

Chocolate Andes Mint Cake

Here is the slightly catastrophic, but delicious, Andes mint cake I made for my sister Jenn's 23rd birthday this year.
Here's the actual undecorated cake with the chocolate ganache coating.

Banana Caramel Cupcakes

I'm not typically a very healthy person, but the one thing I will eat often is fruit. And one of my favorites are banana.
And what goes better with banana then caramel? (Come on, that's still slightly "healthy," right?)

Cotton Candy Cookie Pops

Who doesn't love cotton candy? I know I do. And I had wanted to make something extra special for the arrival of my nephew Christopher Michael, born August 17th (yes, I'm just now putting these up).
You can't see very well (which I didn't realize when I took these pictures, sorry!!) but it says "Welcome baby Christopher" on the three middle cookies.

Volleyball Cake Pops

I really like the idea of cake pops, so I thought I would try it and make some volleyball pops for our preseason camp.
Unfortunately they didn't go well and I ended up just trying to decorate them any way that I could.

Fourth of July Cupcakes

Patriotic Fourth of July cupcakes!
I decided to even make the actual cupcakes red white and blue.

Homemade Hershey Kiss Sayings

For Will and I's one year anniversary (sorry, these are old posts I'm catching up on!) I decided to make my own Hershey kiss sayings with reasons why I love him and "I love you" in different languages.
It was an easy gift while still being very personal and heartfelt.

Candy Covered Pretzels

When I saw these UK blue cups, I knew I had to buy some for Will, who is always out of cups (or maybe just behind on doing the dishes...). I bought them thinking that I would fill them up with candy, however, once I saw how big they were, I knew that would be a challenge.
That's when my mom came up with the idea of chocolate covered pretzels. But I didn't want to just give him plain and boring chocolate covered pretzels. So I decided to make extreme candy covered chocolate pretzels, and boy were they delicious!

Semi Splendid

When I saw a box advertising sugar free splenda brownies, I knew I had to try them.
And for the most part, they turned out okay!

The Catch of the Day

Well, I have some catching up to do with the blog so here are some older creations that I haven't put up yet, starting with these ocean themed cupcakes made for my mom's third grade class to celebrate summer and the end of school.
I was running out of supplies so I had to make two different types of cupcakes, but overall I think they looked cute.

Happy Father's Day!

Here's the grill cake I made for my dad for Father's Day.
His present was a new grill so it was pretty appropriate.

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day! Here are the cupcakes I made for my sister Jenn's Memorial Day party.
I really wanted to try a new technique of melting candy to form unique toppers.

Cake Pop Bouquet

I recently bought Wilton's cake pop book at Hobby Lobby as a spur of the moment buy and boy, did I want to make every cake pop in the book! I decided that since I couldn't go home for Mother's Day (a 6.5 hr drive) I would go home with my boyfriend, Will, and I didn't know what to bring for his mom, since flowers seemed to overdo things and nothing seemed inappropriate.
Finally, I decided to make flower cake pops and form a little bouquet to bring her before church.

Golf Cupcake Cake

I was so excited when Will and Harrison asked me to make cupcakes for their golf banquet. And of course, I couldn't make just plain old cupcakes, they had to look and taste great. I decided to make my favorite cupcake, a hot fudge sundae cupcake and make the cupcakes look like your typical golf course (except that the ball is on the green and not in a sand trap, of course!).

Princess Cupcakes!

These cupcakes I made for my demo for the Miss KWC 2010 pageant. They're pretty goofy, but I think they're cute and they look much harder than they really are. These could also be used as pregnant women, as I made the cupcakes pretty big so she looks a bit heavy.

Again, Happy St. Patty's Day!

And here are the cupcakes that I made for mom's third grade class.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patty's Day everyone!
In honor of St. Patrick's Day here are the cupcakes I made for our Kappa Delta Shamrock bake sale a few days back.

Volleyball Cupcakes

Volleyball is a huge love of mine and I've been thinking about making volleyball cupcakes now for awhile.
It all started with these great edible food markers and some white M&M's.

Cupcake Extras

For anyone who loves baking, Valentines day is a great excuse to go above and beyond with your baking ideas. And yes, I'm no exception and I have lots of exciting things to post for Valentines day, however, I've been really sick these past few days and don't feel up to finding my camera and uploading the pictures, so here is a post to keep you occupied. Since people know I love cupcakes I tend to get a lot of cupcake-themed items (which I love!!) so I thought I'd share some cupcake extras with you this time.
First, we have the faux-cupcake:
